2011 Agustin Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo Scholarship Recipients

South El Monte Sister City awarded three South El Monte High School graduates with the 2011 Agustin Roberto “Bobby” Salcedo Scholarship. This Scholarship honors the work of Bobby Salcedo in the organization. He joined Sister City the summer of 1994, and was an active member until his untimely death on December 31, 2009. He served on the US/Mexico Sister City National Board, International Board and past President for our organization. His leadership, mentorship, and commitment were a fundamental component in building a foundation for the organization’s youth program.  With his passion for the “People-to-People” concept, and his love of the organization, So El Monte Sister Cities became one of the strongest organization and youth groups. With his recent passing Bobby left a remarkable legacy but a tremendous void in the hearts of its members.
